Mr. Robert Yates, owner/instructor, provides hands-on classroom and behind the wheel instruction designed to reduce the anxiety of new drivers. With a fun approach to teaching, Robert utilizes his sense of humor, professional ease, and 14 years of experience to train new drivers. With Bachelor's degrees in both Marketing and Management (Ferris State University) and Mortuary Science (Wayne State University), he uses his knowledge of working with people and customer service to provide an optimal experience. Robert is married to Peggy (for 27 years) and is the father of 4 boys, Cody (United States Naval Academy Class of 2020/
Naval Aviator-Stationed in Lemoore, CA, Chuck (Kettering University Graduate), Corben (Kettering University), and Corey (United States Naval Academy Class of 2027). He is a licensed driver training instructor with the MDOT and an automobile-road tester for the Secretary of State.
Dr. Peggy Yates, owner/instructor, has designed the instructional components of the classroom instruction to provide access to learning for all. As a former general and special education teacher (25 years) and a college professor in an Education Department, she uses her skills to ensure that learning is not only fun, it teaches the essential skills needed to learn the basics of driving. Dr. Yates' credentials represent 30+ years of training and include a Bachelor's in Elementary Education (Alma College), Master's in Middle Level Education (Central Michigan University), Master's in Learning and Behavioral Disorders (Saginaw Valley State University), and a Doctorate in Education (University of Michigan-Flint). Dr. Yates is proud to serve local youth and work with Robert as a team to improve traffic safety in Gratiot and surrounding areas. She is the mother of four boys, Cody, Chuck, Corben, and Corey and is a licensed driver training instructor with the MDOT. She is also an automobile-road tester for the Secretary of State.

Mrs. Karen Carman serves as a Michigan Department of State approved automobile tester for Yates 2 Driving School. Karen is a graduate of Alma College (BA in Elementary Education) and Central Michigan University (MA in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading Instruction). She taught 6th grade at Greenville Public Schools for 29 years and one year of 3rd grade in Coloma Community Schools. She is an adjunct instructor for the Education Development at Alma College. Karen has been married to Rollie for 30 years and is the mother of Kennedy and Lottie. Her hobbies include reading, collecting antiques, gardening, rock collecting along Lake Superior, as well as anything softball and baseball related.

Kim June serves as a Michigan Department of State approved automobile tester for Yates 2 Driving School at the Saginaw site. She has recently retired from Alma Public Schools after 31 years of service. In addition to being an automobile tester, Kim works for Alma College in the Dow Digital Science Summer Camp programs and at Central Michigan University’s Center for Excellence in STEM Education.
